چکیده

There is a paucity of data on the comparison drug-coated balloons (DCB) versus drug-eluting stents (DES) for femoropopliteal lesions. We conducted regression-based meta-analysis to compare DCB DES in peripheral arterial disease (PAD). An online literature search was MEDLINE (EMBASE and PubMed), Cochrane, Web Science using PRISMA strategy from inception till November 2022. Statistical analysis done calculate Odds’ ratios regression rule out effect modifiers including baseline characteristics comorbidities. A total 1139 patients underwent intervention (DCB n=642; n=497). One-year clinical-driven target lesion revascularization (CD-TLR) significantly lower group (OR: 0.67; 95% CI = 0.46 – 0.96; p 0.03). no difference all-cause mortality, primary patency at one year 2 years among DES. Major amputation low (log OR: 0.47; 0.25 0.87; 0.02). Univariate meta-regression results showed modification based demographics, comorbidities, (p > 0.05) all outcomes except post-procedure ABI. In case ABI, hyperlipidemia (- 0.017, p-value 0.034) smoking 0.007, 0.032) weak albeit statistically significant correlation have favorable one-year CD-TLR major rates as compared with PAD. However, both groups had similar two-year CD-TLR, patency, procedural success,

Drug-eluting stents in the management of peripheral arterial disease

Since major meta-analyses of randomized controlled trials in interventional cardiology showed the potential of drug-eluting stents in decreasing restenosis and reintervention rates after coronary artery stenting, one of the next steps in the treatment of arterial occlusive disease is the transfer of the active coating technology towards peripheral arterial interventions. In this manuscript, we ...

Biodegradable-polymer drug-eluting stents vs. bare metal stents vs. durable-polymer drug-eluting stents: a systematic review and Bayesian approach network meta-analysis.

BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to compare the safety and efficacy of biodegradable-polymer (BP) drug-eluting stents (DES), bare metal stents (BMS), and durable-polymer DES in patients undergoing coronary revascularization, we performed a systematic review and network meta-analysis using a Bayesian framework. METHODS AND RESULTS Study stents included BMS, paclitaxel-eluting (PES), siroli...

Meta-analysis comparing drug-eluting stents with bare metal stents.

We performed a meta-analysis of 10 randomized trials of 5,066 patients with 6 to 12 months of follow-up. The summary risk differences excluded any major differences between the 2 types of stents for death (0.12%, 95% confidence interval [CI] -0.34% to 0.58%, p = 0.60) and overall myocardial infarction (0.04%, 95% CI -0.72% to 0.81%, p = 0.91). There was a modest increase in the risk of Q-wave m...

Platelet Reactivity and Clinical Outcomes After Coronary Artery Implantation of Drug-Eluting Stents in Subjects With Peripheral Arterial Disease

Coronary artery disease (CAD) and peripheral arterial disease (PAD) are different manifestations of atherosclerosis but frequently coexist. Previous studies have identified subjects with PAD as a high-risk subgroup with increased adverse events after elective percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). PAD has also been associated with increased rates of adverse events after primary PCI for acute...
